PASADENA, Texas — The San Jacinto College baseball team opens the 2022 season at No. 3 in the National Junior College Athletic Association pre-season poll.
"We're excited to get back on the field this season and make a run for the JUCO World Series," said head coach Tom Arrington. "We have players returning at almost every position, and we've built a roster behind them for depth, so I look for us to have a solid team on both sides of the ball this year."
Coming off a third-place finish at the 2021 JUCO World Series, San Jac opens the season on the road Feb. 4-6 at the Panama City Beach Invitational, hosted by Gulf Coast State College. From there, the Gators head to Chipola College for the Indian Invitational before the opening home series against Monroe College Feb. 18-20.
San Jac's 2022 schedule includes home and away games against Coastal Bend College, Blinn College, Wharton County Junior College, Alvin Community College, and Galveston College and road games against McLennon College and Navarro College. The 2022 Alpine Bank JUCO World Series is scheduled for May 28-June 4 at Sam Suplizio Field in Junction, Colorado.
